Final Assessment

Dear Lee,
I really enjoyed reading your work. It is quite fluent and interesting as well. I can see that you put effort into it. I realize that you did a lot at home and I am glad that that option is open to you because it probably helped take off some pressure. You need to start using spell check and grammar check when you do assignments on the computer. It is a pity to have little mistakes that could be fixed with a little extra time.
Good job!
Your final grade is 97.
Yours,
Karen Noll Stanger

Reflection

I did enjoy this way of doing a book report because it is easy for me to work in the computer.
I do prefer that way because it is more easy and fast to write in the computer and you can do the work at home and in the class.
It was worth to spend so many lessons so people could have help in the blog if they needed because at home they wouldn't have help.
I learn to write better in English from doing this blog.
I suggest to continue this program.

Enter the Book

If I were going to join the character, Janie, in the story I will need to pack the following things:
1. clothes - because I need them.
2. pills against depression - so I wont be depressed like Janie.
3. tooth brush and tooth paste - because I need them.
4. hair brush - because I need it.
5. juice - because Janie is allergic to milk and when she drank milk she found out that she was kidnapped and that changed her life.

Diary

A diary of Miranda Johnson:
Sunday 5\18:
Dear Diary,
Today I volunteered in the hospital. There was alot of work! I was runnig every where to help all patients! I came back home so tired and ofcourse I needed to make dinner because Frank was still training the football team or whatever he was training. I love frank but I feel that he is not really helping me enouph around the house. I will talk to him sometime.
Me and frank are getting a little sad because Hannah's birthday is in a week and we cant celebrate beacause of Janie. I feel so awfull that we decided not to tell Janie about Hannah.
Well... I'm done. Bye.
Friday 5\25:
Dear Diary,
Today is Hannah birthday. I now remember how sad I was when she was gone. It's late now but I cant sleep, I am just crying and I cant stop. LIfe is not fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss Hannah and I miss her smile that i didn't see for years. Janie is like my daughter but she isn't! I just want to see her once. One smile and that's it! but I cant.... I dont know why but I started praying for her. Not for me to see hey just for her to be safe, happy and peaceful. But I believ it's not so.
Bye. Good night.
thursday 6\16:
Dear Diary,
I am so scared! Janie came home today and asked about Hannah! I didn't want to lie to my only granddaughter so me and Frank told her the truth. We told her that we are her grandparents and Hannah went to the cult. She knows everything now and I dont know what she think and I dont know what to do anymore. I feel like we lost ant contact with Janie. I hope we will still stay a family but I think that Frank is starting to fall apart. I am steel praying amd hoping but for now it didn't work....
Bye.

The Ending

A different ending to the story:
After that her parent's told her that they are her grand parents she was upset, angry, sad and most of all confused. She went to bed and had a dream: She saw her self going to the Spring family house. Her mother, Miranda, was so angry that she would not speak to her again. Her dad, frank, stood by his wife and tried to act nicely to Janie. She arrived to the house and everyone looked at her and was angry at her to for being kidnap. no one talks to her and she is alone. suddenly she wakes up because the alarm clock rang. She got organized to school and went to the bus station. She didn't focus at all she was thinking about her dream and what is going to happened to her and got really really depressed. After history class she went to math class which was in the fourth floor. she almost made it to fourth floor but then she slipped. she fell all the stairs down and got a bad hit on her head but didn't die. The medicals took her to the hospital and found out that she had lost her memory. Would Miranda and Frank tell her about Hannah? The milk Carton? Or they will just open a new page and tell her nothing and move to another town?

The plot

The plot of "the face on the milk carton"
Janie Johnson is in high school. One day she sat in the cafeteria in her school, took her friend's milk and then flipped it over and found that the picture of the kidnapped child was her. After a few days she find in the addict the dress that she war in the picture on the milk carton and a trunk with the letter "H" on it. Then, Janie was so angry and so upset and demanded on her parents, frank and Miranda, to tell her the truth. They told her that they are her grand parents and Hannah is her mother that ran away to a cult a long time ago. Janie realized that Hannah is probably her kidnapper. Janie found an address of a family called Spring (the name on the milk carton was Jennie Spring) in New Jersey and their phone number. Reeve, Janie's boy friend, took her to new Jersey and found the home and discovered that the people in that home is all red haired, just like Janie. Reeve's sister Lizzie, is a lawyer and Reeve told her everything about Janie's kidnap. Lizzie told Janie's parents. Miranda Johnson decided to called the Spring and Janie had to talk to them. They answer and she said "Hello, I am your daughter, Janie".
The turning point in the story
In the last two pages in the book the turning point begins. Miranda Johnson, Janie's mother, called the Spring family. Janie took the phone and someone answered. She said "Hello, I am your daughter, Janie". That's how the story end.
I was very surprised because just in the very last pages the author started to write about Miranda's decision to call the Springs. It was not expected at all.
